IPEM, the premier relationship broker for the global private capital industry has a new rendezvous point: IPEM this 18-20 September 2023 will be in Paris at the Jardin des Tuileries. IPEM is reconvening in the French capital to discuss whether the claim of the private capital industry over the past few decades, that private markets are destined to outperform other asset classes, is still holding true. While private markets AUM are predicted to reach the sky, with $30tn AuM in just a few years according to some reports, it is obvious to all market observers that only one single metric will be key for the future of the industry: its overperformance vs the rest of investable asset classes and how the industry can deliver for LPs.

While the claim of outperforming other asset classes has been the core selling proposition for the industry, as the tide of cheap debt and frothy valuations recedes, the next few years will test the conviction of even the most experienced investors:

Interactive workshop and peer learning sessions at the Maison d’Amérique Latine on the 18^th of September will be dedicated to LPs (investors) only and will focus on everything related to the all-important topic of performance. Subsequently on the 19^th and 20^th of September sessions will be mixed for LPs and GPs alike and will interrogate the investment strategies of each private asset class to redefine the meaning of discipline, value and (out-)performance in the next market cycle.
