Discussing the private equity “climate funds” frenzy
The recent COP26 left climate activists with little to celebrate. The conference ended with an agreement that was judged as “unambitious” by many observers. However, investors and PE/VC firms in particular stole the stage from diplomats. The climate financing gap could hit $1tn every year by 2050 according to a recent IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change) report. This monumental investment opportunity led to a “climate funds” frenzy initiated both by the mega-buyout firms and venture capitalists.
- What do LPs think of these “climate PE funds”?
- How do they assess these new investment opportunities?
- What returns do they expect from them? What is their position in a net-zero target policy?

This meetup will gather 20 LPs in the same zoom call. After about 20 minutes of presentation by our speaker, you will have 30 minutes to exchange with all the participants in order to deepen the topic discussed. The idea is really to facilitate the discussion, networking and new contacts in these times of travel restriction.
