Hamilton Lane, Partners Group and now KKR have all taken the move to launch funds on fintech platforms, signalling that this exclusive, hard to access asset class, is fast embracing democratisation. And could, if successful, provide a crucial link for retail investors keen to gain exposure to private markets. Much will depend on the technology’s ability to handle smaller, more frequent capital calls.
